Sometimes your pediatrician is not available, and the ER seems like the only option when your child has an asthma attack, broken bone, minor burn, or cut that need stitches. We don't want you to face the emergency department's long wait times and risk having a provider who is not specifically trained in pediatrics.
From illness and acute injury to lab work, medication, and x-rays, UrgiKids provides emergency, after-hours pediatric care in a setting designed to promote well-being for children and parents alike. And because UrgiKids works closely with your pediatrician, you can be sure your child’s health care is consistent and continuous.
UrgiKids was co-founded by Dr. Megan Brennard & Dr. Seema Awatramani, board-certified doctors of Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and mothers who understand the pitfalls families face when they have a medical emergency.

Meet the Leadership Team
Dr. Megan Brennard
Co-Owner, Medical Director
Dr. Megan Brennard and her Nashville-native husband have called Middle Tennessee home since 2017. She completed her Pediatrics residency and Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship from the University of Alabama at Birmingham within the Children's of Alabama hospital system and is board certified in both. After practicing for several years as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician, she found the opportunity to work with a national pediatric urgent care company where she practiced as a physician and served as the clinic’s Medical Director. She is excited to continue providing specialized pediatric care for kids in a community setting where relationships matter. Things that warm her heart include: being outside (especially near water), baking, a good cup of coffee, watching her kids discover joy in life, and serving on the worship team at church.
Dr. Seema Awatramani
Co-Owner, Business Operations Director
Dr. Seema Awatramani is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She has completed her fellowship training at New York University/Bellevue Hosptal. She completed her pediatric residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. In 2018, Dr. Awatramani opened an UrgiKids Pediatric Urgent Care in Naperville, which she subsequently sold to a national pediatric urgent care company in 2020. She joined the acquiring company and since 2020 has served as part of the company’s leadership, where she has opened two additional urgent care clinics. Dr. Awatramani just completed a six-year term on the board of the College of Urgent Care Medicine and continues to be an active member. She hosts a medical radio show called, “On Call for Kids” on SIRIUS XM’s Doctor Radio, channel 110. She resides in Illinois with her husband and two children.

Sick Visits
For fever, ear pain, vomiting and more, UrgiKids offers same-day sick visits during daytime and evening hours.
Injuries
From cuts that need stitches to burns or broken bones, UrgiKids treats injuries quickly and efficiently while minimizing pain and anxiety.
Lab & X-Ray
UrgiKids is equipped with onsite x-ray and quick turnaround times for results. Strep, viral, and urine testing also performed.
